Multimodal and Cryo Imaging Laboratory
This lab focuses on two main areas: 1. Multimodal and deep tissue bioimaging in the visible and near-infrared spectral regions. 2. Characterization of fluorescent materials in the near-infrared spectral region above 1000 nm at low temperatures.

Spectra-Physics Insight X3 dual beam tuneable fs-laser with second harmonic generator and pulse picker. Spectral range: 360 - 1300 nm.

Single Photon Counting detectors for visible and near-infrared light
Commercial imaging systems from Olympus and PicoQuant for CARS, SRS, FLIM and multi-photon imaging
Large range of CW lasers and objectives for visible and near-infrared light
Fluorescence Characterization Laboratory
This lab provides a fully customisable confocal microscope that is used for the imaging and characterization of nanomaterials and biological samples in the spectral range from 400 to 900 nm

Fianium WhiteLase ps-pulsed supercontiuum laser with variable repetition rate. Spectral range: 400 - 2000 nm.
Princeton Instruments spectrometer. Spectral range: 400 - 950 nm.
Single photon counting detectors
Princeton Instruments ns time-gated ultrafast spectrometer and iCCD camera
Radio-frequency signal generator, amplifier and lock-in amplifier for optically detected magnetic resonance measurements
Various CW laser sources from 400 - 705 nm
BioPhotonics Laboratory
The BioPhotonics Laboratory contains two state-of the-art commercial fluorescence microscopes for the fully automated imaging of biological samples including live cell imaging.

Olympus IX83 Wide-field Fluorescence Microscope with customised optical filters and high-performance CCD camera
Olympus FV1200 Laser Scanning Confocal Microscope with customised optical filters and high-sensitivity detectors for the visible (PMT) and near-infrared (GaAsP) spectral regions
Light excitation from the UV (390 nm) to red (640 nm) spectral region
Both microscopes can be fully automated and feature custom-made incubation chambers for long-term live cell imaging
Material Processing Laboratory
This lab provides infrastructure for the high temperature processing of materials, fabrication of samples and small 3d printed lab components and the fabrication of silk nanomaterials.

Wet Chemistry/Cell Culture Laboratory
This lab provides an ideal environment for cell culturing, basic nanomaterial synthesis and processing and the fabrication and inspection of a wide range of biological and non-biological samples.
